The Direct Retro tool will be retired in the near future. The last day to submit and approve transactions through Direct Retro will be July 1, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. (PDT).  
 

In April 2025, UCPath contacted 6,000+ UC employees regarding the UC Benefits Family Member Eligibility Reverification process with third party vendor, UnifyHR. 

Through November 2025, UC will continue efforts to confirm the continuing eligibility of some previously verified family members.

Starting March 1, 2025, UC will conduct eligibility reverification of some enrolled family members.

UCPath identified an issue where Vacation Leave Assessment (VLA) reversal was not generated for Salary Cost Transfer (SCT) on paychecks created between July 14, 2024 and November 25, 2024.

Current and former employees are now able to access their 2024 W-2 form online via UCPath. Online forms will also be available to employees who requested to receive a paper form. 

The UCPath Center discovered a Salary Cost Transfer (SCT) processing issue which resulted in incorrect deductions recorded on location journals.

General and Employment Liability (GAEL) charges were incorrectly posted to department redirect accounts for payroll runs 241130M0X and 241123B1X. Learn more. 

Exciting news! UCPath recently launched an update to the Person Organizational Summary page, which allows provisioned UCPath users to view an individual's UC Employee or Contingent Worker assignments. 

We recently received further guidance from University of California Office of the President (UCOP) and Office of the General Council (OGC) that new I-9 forms will also be required for Emeriti that were previously hired in appointments with pay. 

 

Due to a technical error, UCPath has requested that work-study SCT transactions on reversal checks be paused through September 30, 2024. 

The deadline for employees to sign the Payroll Data NDA was extended to Friday, 8/30/24.

In an effort to better align with the UCLA Gender Recognition and Lived Name Policy, some CRU case submission forms were updated with new Employee Preferred Name fields.

Employees with existing access to payroll data (in UCPath or otherwise) must electronically sign the new version of the NDA agreement by Friday, August 16, 2024 in order to retain their access.

A special protocol is required for submitting off-cycle pay requests for bi-weekly paid employees near quarter end (June 26 - July 1). 

The University of California Office of The President (UCOP) recently implemented new guidelines for Emeriti appointments in UCPath. 

UCPath Transactors are asked review transactions that may have been impacted by a recent issue UCPath experienced with Real-Time FAU Validation. 

UCPath recently launched new Ask UCPath features. Employees no longer have to select a topic and category when submitting an inquiry. Additionally, they can now reopen previously closed inquires and self-close inquiries when assistance is no longer needed. 

General and Employment Liability (GAEL) charges that utilized the new Salary Cost Transfer (SCT) tool from November 13, 2023 through January 31, 2024 were incorrectly applied to federal funds. The issue has been resolved and no departmental action is required at this time. 

Update: As of 4/11/24, UCPath completed a mass benefit cost transfer to rectify past discrepancies.
