UCPath Former Employee Portal

Accessing the Portal

Profile Setup

UCPath automatically initiates the former employee account setup process. You'll have access to the Former Employee Portal for up to three years after the date of your termination.

  1. Within 48 hours of your termination date, UCPath will send you an email with a unique link to set up your former employee portal account. You'll be asked to complete a verification challenge and a multi-factor authentication (MFA) challenge in order to continue to profile setup.
  2. After completing the identity verification tasks, you'll be asked to create a secure password for future use.
  3. You'll receive a verification email from UCPath that confirms your account activation with your UC Employee ID* and a link to the Former Employee Portal.

*Your Employee ID (or EMPL ID) is the eight-digit UC identification number that is listed in UCPath. This is separate from your nine-digit UCLA identification number.

FAQs

Your account setup email will be sent to the address on file with UCPath at the time of your termination. The email address is selected from the following email fields within UCPath Personal Information Summary:

  1. Home
  2. Other

If you mark one of these as "preferred," the account setup email will be sent to that address. If none of these are marked as "preferred," the system will use the first populated email address in the order above (i.e., it will first look for Home email, then Other email).

Your unique account creation link will be active for 90 days or until you set up your profile. If you don't have access to the email on file with UCPath, or need further assistance, you'll need to contact the UCPath Center.

We recommend reviewing and updating your Personal Information Summary details in UCPath prior to your effective termination date. You may also want to make note of your UC Employee ID.

Because your UC employee email will become inactive, it is important that system messages, such as the Former Employee Portal setup email, are routed to a personal email address that you have access to.

You'll also want to ensure a personal phone number is listed in your profile (rather than your work phone) so that you can complete the Multi-Factor Authentication step at login.

Signing In

After completing your initial account setup, to log into the Former Employee Portal:

  1. Visit ucpath.universityofcalifornia.edu.
  2. Select University of California; Former Employees from the drop-down list (last option).
  3. Enter your credentials.
  4. Verify your identity through a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) call or sms (text) message.
