On April 3, we received the following alert from the UCPath Center (UCPC). Throughout April 2025, UCPC contacted 1,300+ UCLA employees.
To make sure UC uses benefits resources wisely, we work with UnifyHR to confirm that your family members are still eligible to be enrolled in health and welfare benefits as your dependents. Some dependent relationships may change over time, and family member eligibility reverification ensures that only those family members who are eligible continue to be enrolled. Dependents included in the reverification include your spouse, domestic partner, stepchild, grandchild/step-grandchild, legal ward or overaged disabled child.
Biological, adopted and foster children are not subject to the reverification process. Dependents who have been verified in the last three years are also exempt from this process.
What to expect
Watch for a packet arriving soon from UnifyHR, UC’s administrator for the Family Member Eligibility Verification and Reverification program.
What to do
- Read the directions to find out your deadline and what documents to submit
- Respond by the deadline to continue your family members’ benefits
- If you need assistance with identifying the necessary documents or with logging into the UnifyHR portal, please contact UnifyHR. Failure to verify will result in cancellation of your family members’ coverage
