On December 4, we received the following alert from the UCPath Center regarding the Family Member Eligibility Verification process with UC health benefits vendor, UnifyHR.
Reminder for Family Member Eligibility Reverification
To ensure that UC’s benefits resources are used wisely, UC will conduct eligibility reverification of some enrolled family members, starting with the mailing of packets on March 1, 2025. Because relationships can change over time, UC will verify the continued eligibility of certain previously verified family members. This is in addition to the family member eligibility verification (FMEV) process for newly enrolled members.
FMEV Administered by UnifyHR
UnifyHR manages the verification and reverification process for UC.
What Employees Should Expect
Employees will receive a packet of verification materials from UnifyHR if they last completed verification more than three years ago for the following dependents: spouse, domestic partner, stepchild, grandchild/step-grandchild, legal ward or overage disabled child.
Action Required
Employees must respond by the deadline specified in the letter to maintain their family members’ coverage. Group reports are available to location FMEV admins if they wish to conduct additional employee outreach.
