In Case You Missed It
UCPath recently launched new Ask UCPath features that make submitting your question easier than ever!
New Ask UCPath Features Article
Submit an InquiryBeginning May 6, 2024, employees no longer need to self-select a topic and category for their question. Instead, the system will identify helpful resources based on the information you provide. If your question is not resolved by the suggested resources, the topic and category for your question will be automatically determined on the backend system upon submission.
Reopen CaseReopen Case has replaced the Pending Closure and Follow-Up case functionalities. You'll use this feature if you ever need to reopen a closed Ask UCPath case.
Close CaseGoing forward, you'll have the ability to self-close a case if your inquiry was resolved or submitted in error.
BW 1: April 30, 5:00 p.m. – May 3, 6:00 a.m.

Transactors who submit manual manual I-181 or I-618 files are advised to submit files no earlier than two business days prior to the associated pay period's inbound file deadline.
You can review the inbound file deadlines on the UCPath Production Processing Schedule (see the "Inbound Files Due" columns).
General and Employment Liability (GAEL) charges that utilized the new Salary Cost Transfer (SCT) tool from November 13, 2023 through January 31, 2024 were incorrectly applied to federal funds. UCPath implemented a permanent solution for these transactions in February to prevent future errors.
Recently, UCPath completed a mass benefit cost transfer for these transactions. This action retroactively corrects the financial records by transferring impacted GAEL expenses from the federal funds to the redirect FAUs on file for each affected department.
Following this action, departments may wish to move expenses to a different FAU than the redirect FAU on file. In these cases, please adhere to the Benefit Cost Transfer Processing Transition to EFM for Contract and Grant Funds guidelines.

An exciting new benefit is available for faculty and staff! UC now provides fully paid comprehensive identity theft protection for employees and their dependent children under age 18 through Experian. On April 1, 2024, you should have received a welcome email from Experian with a personalized link to access the Experian portal and complete your account set-up.
The benefit is automatically available to eligible UC members, but you'll need to create an Experian account and if applicable, enroll eligible dependents in order to use the plan. Access our recent article to learn about the plan, how to activate your benefit, view resources, and more!

During the week of March 26, some current and separated UCLA employees were erroneously mailed a collection notice from Coast Professional, Inc. (Coast). This third-party company is partnered with UCPath for the collection of overdue funds.
This collection notice has been redacted and no action is required on the recipient's behalf at this time. The letters were erroneously distributed prior to verification of overdue account information with UCPath.
In the near future, Coast will verify overdue account information with UCPath. Individuals who qualify for a new collection letter will receive a follow-up notice from UCPath, then a valid invoice from Coast.
On Monday, May 27, 2024, your UCLA Payroll Partner office will close to observe Memorial Day.
All cases submitted to CRU will be reviewed when we resume operations on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
The next CRU Newsletter will be published in June 2024. During the month of May, we will:
