Your Summer Path
Spring has sprung, which means it’s time to get ready for the next round of UCPath enhancements! During Summer 2023, the following updates will launch:
Lived Name
This highly-anticipated project enhances the UCPath user experience and establishes compliance with the UC Gender Recognition and Lived Name Policy by displaying an employee’s lived name on all UCPath pages, except those where legal name is required by law or legitimate business need.
PUM Upgrade / Improved Navigation
This year’s PUM Upgrade includes administrative-view interface changes and additional searching functionality. These updates will only be visible to users with expanded access roles:
- Initiator
- Approver
- Inquiry
Self-service pages will not be impacted (i.e., standard employees will not see a change).
Replace PayPath (Phase 1)
UCLA has opted out of the initial release of this project. Transactors will see a new “Manage Job” tile in the Workforce Administration homepage, but the data will be view-only.

Lived Name
You can start preparing for the Lived Name project by completing the UCLA EDI Education Series, which includes two modules:
- Understanding and Preventing Discrimination: Best Practices for Creating an Inclusive UCLA
- Understanding Gender and Sexual Orientation: Best Practices for Fostering Inclusion and Preventing Discrimination
