UCPath Emergency Maintenance

On Wednesday, October 21, UCPath will undergo emergency maintenance from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (PT) to mitigate a critical vulnerability. During this period, the UCPath interface dashboard will be unavailable while the UCPath Center (UCPC) address the issue and implements broader remediation efforts.

Employees and transactors may experience intermittent performance issues during the maintenance window.

UCPC will provide additional updates as they become available.

Update Your Personal Contact Information

To strengthen account security, UCPath will soon implement a one-time passcode verification process for selected sensitive pages, including Direct Deposit, Personal Contact Details, and Security Question Setup.

The one-time passcode will be sent to a personal phone number or personal email address on file in UCPath.

  • Employees who do not have a personal phone number or personal email address recorded in UCPath should update their contact information as soon as possible.
  • If contact information is not updated, employees may be unable to complete the verification process and will need to contact the UCPath Center for assistance.

For instructions, review the UCPath job aid: Update Contact Details

The More You Know: Selecting the Right CRU Case Topic

CRU has seen a recent increase in miscategorized HR/Admin form cases submitted under the "AWE Routing and UID Issues" topic. Because AWE cases are routed to a specialized technical queue, miscategorized requests must be manually reassigned, creating delays.

When submitting a case through the HR Admin Request Form, please remind your teams to:

  • Choose the topic that most closely matches their issue.
  • Avoid selecting "AWE Routing and UID Issues" unless the request involves AWE routing errors, UID mismatches, or system access issues.
  • Follow  guidance provided by the CRU case portal.

More information and an email template for outreach to department staff can be found in our recent web article.

Get 2026 Tax Forms Delivered Electronically

The University of California will spend over $500k annually to mail paper 1095-C, W-2 forms and paychecks. By promoting electronic delivery, you can help the UCPath Center distribute pay and important tax documentation efficiently and securely in the new year.

Open Enrollment: October 29 - November 20

  • Reviewing your personal and dependent information to ensure all information is current and accurate.
  • Verifying Dependent Coverage. If you received a Family Member Eligibility Verification (FMEV) request from UnifyHR, be sure to complete the verification process for any dependents who still require verification.

Tracker Administrator Office Hours Registration

The UCPath Center recently updated the SCT Processing Schedule. This schedule outlines when transactions must be approved in order to be picked up and posted to the Labor Ledger. It also identifies when you can expect to see the approved transactions in the Labor Ledger and, subsequently, in the General Ledger.

July 2026 through December 2026 dates are now available on Box.

Effective October 10, 2026, UCPath implemented new security enhancements to help protect employee accounts and improve awareness of account activity. Updates include expanded direct deposit notifications sent to all email addresses on file, enhanced protections for security question responses, and new in-system alerts following direct deposit changes.

  • Employees should review any direct deposit notifications they receive and contact UCPath immediately if they identify a change they did not make.

Please share this information with employees and encourage them to remain vigilant regarding account security.

Beginning October 19, 2026, UCPath will introduce SMS (text message) notifications as an additional security measure for certain direct deposit changes. When employees make direct deposit changes that meet the pilot criteria, they may receive a text message asking them to confirm that they made the change.

Learn more in this CRU website article.

UCPath implemented changes in the September monthly release and made enhancements visible to users on October 1, 2026. Read our website article to learn more about recent enhancements to UCPath and UCPath Online.

UCPath Enhancements & Training Article

UCPath implemented an enhancement within the Manage Job and Manage Human Resources functionality for new Contingent Worker (CWR) appointment transactions.

What's Changing

Beginning October 2, the End Job Automatically (EJA) flag defaults to Yes for new CWR appointment transactions. This change helps reduce active CWR appointments after their expected job end date has passed. Transactors may change the EJA flag to No when appropriate.

Issue Identified

During implementation, an issue caused the EJA flag to be applied automatically to some existing CWR appointments with expired expected job end dates. UCPath resolved the defect and restored their roles in the system. At this time, no further action is required.

On September 14, the UCPath Center (UCPC) announced a transition to a standardized monthly UCPath enhancement summary. This new format will make release information easier to locate and provide a more consistent view of UCPath system updates.

The monthly summary will consolidate completed changes and enhancements into a single communication and will replace the weekly Changes & Enhancements emails that we previously summarized for UCLA audiences.

If changes require advance notice or have significant impact, UCPC will continue to communicate separately.

Beginning September 1, UCPath job aids and help resources are available through the new UCPath Search experience. The updated format offers improved accessibility, enhanced search functionality, and a streamlined user experience.

What is changing:

  • Help Links Updated: Links under the Help menu in the UCPath portal now direct users to the new location for UCPath help resources.
  • Resources Closer to Work: Users can search for job aids and other help content directly within the UCPath portal.
  • Enhanced Web Accessibility: The new format supports assistive technologies and provides a more inclusive experience for accessing UCPath guidance.

For additional information and transition resources, read CRU article: UCPath Help Site Transition to Ask UCPath

Starting August 31, 2026, UCPath's AI-powered chatbot, PathPal, will offer Spanish-language support, making it easier for Spanish-speaking employees to access self-service guidance and resources. Learn about the new capabilities, important service notes, and available support resources in this CRU website article.
