Phase 1 of the Improve Final Pay project was successfully completed and went into production on Monday, December 5, 2022.
Overview
Issuing a terminated employee's final pay is completely manual and requires significant coordination between UCLA and UCPath Center (UCPC) Payroll Production. The Improving Final Pay project increases the accuracy and efficiency of these requests via a two-phased approach:
Phase 1
Launching December 5, the first phase of the project:

New fields are being added to the E-078 Payroll Request, eliminating the need for you to use the comments template on final pay requests.
NOTE: The comments field will still be available for information that needs to be communicated to UCPC Payroll Production.
The Deductions tabs, which is currently only visible to UCPC Payroll Production, will now be displayed for all users. It is used to collect outstanding balances for employees who were issued a payment using theEmergency Pay or Instant Pay deduction codes.
UCLA does not use the Emergency Pay or Instant Pay deduction codes, so this tab should be left blank.
Phase 2
UCPC is currently working with all locations to develop a comprehensive final pay solution, and Phase 2 has a tentative fall 2023 launch. Stay tuned for additional information.
