Other Updates & Reminders:

  • On October 12, UCPath introduced virtual agents to its phone service. The new virtual agents can answer some common questions by phone, and over time, they will answer more questions.

Employees calling UCPath will experience the following:

  • After authenticating their identity, callers will be greeted by a virtual agent
  • The virtual agent can answer some common questions, such as questions about W-2s, paychecks, vacation and sick accruals, direct deposit, employment verification and Public Service Loan Forgiveness forms
  • Callers will also hear the average wait time to speak with an agent
  • The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) states that repayment of a payroll overpayment must occur in the same year as the overpayment. This repayment ensures that the employee's earnings and taxes for the current year are correctly reflected in their W-2 issued in January. Click here for more information.

Did you know?

For further clarification on the recent 9/30 communication, an employee’s last date worked and termination date usually occurs on the same day. However, when it does not, the only reason the time between the last day worked and termination date can be covered by sick and/or vacation leave is if there is an approved LOA or prior to retirement. Outside of those reasons, paid leave time cannot be used to create a bridge between the two dates.
