Other Updates & Reminders:

New payroll and workforce administration metrics are available on the UCPath Metrics dashboard

  • The final pay metrics report illustrates the processing time for on-cycle and off-cycle final pay transactions. This metric can be viewed by location and by month.
  • The retro transaction overpayments report displays the number of retro transactions that caused an overpayment. The metrics includes the overpayments that have been adjusted (overpayment recovery) and the ones that still need to be recovered.
  • The reinstatements after auto-term report depicts the auto-terminations that resulted in a reinstatement. This metric can be viewed by location and by month.

As a reminder, UCPath access for employees is determined by the Location, not by UCPath. For example, an employee that is on an unpaid leave of absence may not have access to UCPath online, due to the Location’s policy.

When making changes to position or job, transactors should ensure the pay and compensation “frequency” fields are aligned to avoid negative downstream impacts

  • Pay Frequency is used to calculate the overall compensation rate for pay.
  • Pay frequency and compensation frequency are on the “Job Data” tab in PayPath and in the  “Salary and Compensation” section in the Manage Job page.
    • Pay frequency options include:
      • H – Hourly
      • LH – Hourly for LBNL/Hastings (SF Law) Only
      • C – Contract
      • B – Biweekly
      • M- Monthly
      • UC912 – UC9/12 AY
      • UC_10 – UC 1/10th Rate
      • UC_11 – UC 1/11th Rate
      • UC_12 – UC 1/12th Rate
      • UC_9M – UC 1/9th Rate
      • UC_FY – UC 12/12 Rate
  • Compensation frequency is used to define the compensation rate code.
    • Compensation frequency options include:
      • UCHRLY (H - Hourly)
        • The UCHRLY compensation frequency only aligns with “H” pay frequency.
      • UCLHRL (Hastings (SF Law) /LBNL- Hourly Rate)
        • The UCLHRL compensation frequency only aligns with “LH” pay frequency.
      • UCANNL (A - Annual)
        • The UCANNL compensation frequency aligns with all other pay frequencies. (B, M, UC912, UC_10...UC_FY etc)
  • Reminders:
    • The frequency fields on the “Compensation” tab in Job Data determine the pay schedule and how the overall compensation rate is calculated.
    • When submitting position or job code updates, the frequency will default from the job code table.
    • Transactors must review the “Frequency” and “Pay Components” to ensure they are correct.
