Did you know?
Newly appointed faculty members may be eligible for a second initial eligibility period (PIE).
- Faculty members who were recently appointed and did not enroll in their PIE may be eligible for a second PIE.
- The second PIE begins on either:
- the first day of classes for the quarter/semester in which the appointment begins or
- the first day the faculty member arrives on campus, whichever happens first
- To initiate the second PIE event, a case must be submitted requesting the second PIE to enroll in benefits within 31 days from the effective date (either the first day of classes or the first day the faculty member arrives on campus, whichever occurs first).
