UCPath Notice: Student Employment Verification

A UCLA Gold swatch.

On April 18, we received the following alert from the UCPath Center.

Effective April 27, The Work Number will provide employment verifications for all UC employees including students. Previously, the UCPath Center (UCPC) verified employment and income upon request from student employees.

What is Changing?

Banks, leasing agents and employers will contact The Work Number and use UC Employer Code 15975 to verify student employment information.

  • The UCPath Center will share student employee's job and income information with the third party vendor, along with the data for other UC employees.
  • UCPC, UC Legal and The Work Number will ensure that shared student information meets UC policy, legal and regulatory standards, including FERPA provisions.

Opting Out

If student employees do not want their data shared with The Work Number, they may opt out via UCPath employee self-service beginning April 28 (see job aid below resources).

NOTE: Employees who opt out must refer all verifiers to the UCPath Center for manual employment and income verifications.
