Update to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

As communicated in a statement from the United States Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS), pursuant to the July 16, 2021, order issued by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas in Texas v. United States, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is prohibited from granting initial DACA requests and any accompanying requests for employment authorization.

I-9 Processing Procedures Class: August 19-20

As a reminder, we offer an I-9 Processing Procedures class to help users understand the procedures for completing the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9 Form). This class is valuable to employees with new responsibilities in this area, and it can be used as a refresher for veterans as well.

If you experience any difficulties registering for the course, send an email to CRU-training@finance.ucla.edu by Wednesday, August 18, 12pm PDT.

Direct Retro Processing Schedule 2021-2022

UCPath has released a new Direct Retro Processing Schedule. This schedule outlines when direct retros must be approved in order to be picked up and posted to the Labor Ledger. It will also identify when you can expect to see the approved direct retros in our Labor Ledger and when you can expect to see them in our General Ledger.

Dates now available from July 2021 through September 2021 in this article in our knowledge base.

Top UCPath Defects, Limitations, and Change Requests for UCLA

As a reminder, UCPath updated the system to allow certain earnings codes when submitting payouts. However, this change also made the “hours” field required when the “payout accruals” box is checked. Please note:

UCPath will continue to calculate the hours.
Department initiators can enter 1 in the hours field in order to submit the transaction.
